In construction, compliance often lives in filing cabinets, glove boxes, email attachments, and photo galleries scattered across dozens of phones. One employee has a First Aid certificate saved as a PDF. Another has a forklift license tucked away in an email. Someone else isn't sure when their certification expires.

When certification records are difficult to find, it's not just an administrative headache. It can create jobsite delays, failed audits, safety concerns, and unnecessary risk for the business.

That's why we're excited to introduce Employee Certifications in Supercrew. Built for construction and trades businesses, this new feature gives your team a centralized way to manage certifications, track expiry dates, store documentation, and stay ahead of compliance requirements.

One place for every certification

Employee Certifications gives owners, managers, and payroll administrators a single source of truth for certification records across the company.

Whether you're tracking:

  • First Aid certifications
  • OSHA certifications
  • Forklift licenses
  • White Cards
  • Safety tickets
  • Equipment certifications
  • Trade-specific accreditations

You can now organize them all inside Supercrew. Each certification record includes the certification type, expiry date, supporting documentation, and additional notes. Digital copies of certificates can be uploaded and stored directly alongside the employee record.

Instead of hunting through emails or requesting documents from employees every time you need them, everything is available in one place.

Know what's current, what's expiring, and what's already expired

One of the biggest challenges with certification management is simply keeping track of dates.

Supercrew automatically categorizes certifications into clear statuses:

  • Active
  • Expiring Soon
  • Expired
  • No Expiry

For certifications with an expiry date, Supercrew continually evaluates their status based on your company's timezone. Certifications approaching expiration move into an "Expiring Soon" status before they become expired, giving management time to take action before a problem develops.

Instead of maintaining spreadsheets or calendar reminders, your team always has an up-to-date view of certification health across the business.

Get notified before certifications become a problem

Missing an expired certification can create serious consequences on a jobsite.

To help prevent that, Supercrew automatically sends notifications when certifications move into key statuses. Owners, managers, and payroll administrators receive alerts when an employee's certification becomes:

  • Expiring Soon
  • Expired

These notifications are triggered by status changes and are delivered automatically, helping management stay proactive instead of reactive.

Rather than discovering a problem at the jobsite gate, you'll know well in advance which certifications require attention.

See compliance across your entire company

The new Certifications section provides a company-wide view of employee certifications. Management can:

  • Search certification records
  • Filter by certification type
  • Filter by employee
  • Filter by status
  • Sort certifications by expiry date, employee, or status
  • Download certification records to Excel

This makes it much easier to answer questions like:

  • Which certifications are expiring next month?
  • How many employees currently have First Aid training?
  • Which workers need a certification renewal?
  • What certifications belong to a specific employee?

Instead of manually reviewing individual employee files, you can get answers in seconds.

Built into every employee profile

Certification management doesn't live in a separate system. Employee certifications are integrated directly into employee profiles inside Supercrew.

From an employee's profile, managers can:

  • View every certification assigned to that worker
  • Upload certification documents
  • Edit certification details
  • Download copies of certifications
  • Remove outdated records

This provides complete visibility into each employee's credentials without switching between systems or maintaining separate records.

Track certification types consistently

Many companies struggle with inconsistent record keeping. One manager writes "First Aid." Another writes "First-Aid." Someone else enters "Level 1 First Aid." Over time, reporting becomes messy and difficult to manage.

Supercrew solves this with Certification Types.

Certification Types create standardized categories used across the entire company. Instead of entering certification names differently every time, managers select from a consistent list, making reporting, filtering, and searching significantly easier.

The result is cleaner data and better visibility.

Dashboard visibility at a glance

We've also added certification health directly to the dashboard. New dashboard widgets show:

  • Certifications that are Expiring Soon
  • Certifications that are Expired

These company-wide metrics make it easy to identify compliance risks the moment you log in. With a single click, managers can jump directly into the certification list and review affected employees.

Certification records employees can access

Managing certifications isn't only useful for office staff. Employees frequently need to prove that they hold a valid certification while on a jobsite.

The new mobile experience gives employees access to their own certifications directly from their profile. Workers and supervisors can view their certifications, open supporting documents, and share or download files when needed. Owners and managers can also view certifications for other team members while on-site.

That means fewer phone calls back to the office and faster access to the documents needed to get work done.

Designed for growing trades businesses

As your company grows, certification management becomes increasingly difficult.

A business with five employees might be able to manage certifications with spreadsheets. A business with twenty, fifty, or one hundred employees quickly discovers how much work is involved in tracking expiry dates, collecting documents, and ensuring compliance.

Employee Certifications brings this process into a system your team is already using every day. By centralizing records, automating status tracking, and providing proactive notifications, Supercrew helps reduce administrative work while improving visibility across the business.
